Maxim
Energy Drink is a powder product which makes a refreshing sports
drink, when mixed with water. During exercise it is important to
optimize your fluid balance and to ensure that the glycogen store
in your muscles does not get depleted.
A
fluid loss of 2% of your body weight, can reduce your performance
by 10-20%!
Other
effects of dehydration include cramps, headache and overheating.
During exercise,
besides fluid, you
also lose glycogen (energy) and minerals. A depletion of your
glycogen store, can reduce your performance by as much as 50%. The
best remedy is to drink a hypotonic sports drink during exercise.
Maxim Energy Drink contains the ingredients your body needs to
restore the fluid balance, carbohydrate store (glycogen) and
minerals.
Maxim Energy Drink has been particularly developed as a hypotonic
thirst quencher. Its optimal composition of maltodextrin, sucrose,
vitamins and minerals ensures a fast energy supply and an optimal
hydration. It optimizes your performance and delays weariness.
You will feel fit and energetic!

completely. For a less sweet drink, dissolve 2 levelled scoops in
750ml of water [more info].
During
exercise:
The quantity of Energy Drink to consume during exercise depends on
the individual athlete, the weather conditions, the intensity and
duration of exercise. Nevertheless, we will give you some general
guidelines.
1.
Drink 200-500 ml just before exercise to start
well-hydrated.
2.
Drink 200 ml every 15-20 minutes to maintain your fluid
balance.
Advice:
When you are not used to drinking during exercise, try this during
training. Increase the quantity you drink gradually to 200 ml per
15-20 minutes. It will improve your performance.
Note:
drink
300 ml per 15-20 minutes during hot weather conditions
After
exercise:
Drink approximately 500 ml Energy Drink immediately after exercise
to recuperate your fluid balance.
Note:
After
an intensive exercise longer than 1 hour, we suggest you also use a
Recovery (drink or bar) for a faster recuperation of the glycogen
store and the muscles. Consume the Recovery products after having
consumed 500ml Energy Drink.
Tip:
If
you prefer the less sweet Energy Drink, but you wish to obtain a
higher carbohydrate content, dissolve 2 levelled scoops of Energy
Drink and 1 levelled scoop of Energy Mix in 750ml water. This is
also a hypotonic drink and therefore absorbed faster by the body
than plain water. It contains 74g carbohydrates per litre (of which
71% maltodextrin and 29% sucrose).
